- Is the main argument clear and well-supported?
- Is the organization logical?
- Are there any missing pieces or unnecessary sections?
- Does the conclusion follow from the evidence?
Pass 2: Paragraphs and Flow
- Does each paragraph have a clear purpose?
- Are transitions smooth?
- Is the paragraph order effective?
Pass 3: Sentences and Style
- Are sentences clear and concise?
- Is there sentence variety?
- Is the tone consistent?
Pass 4: Grammar and Mechanics
- Spelling, grammar, punctuation
- Formatting consistency
- Citation accuracy
