Meeting Notes
Effective meeting notes capture decisions, action items, and key discussion points—not everything that was said.
- Record: Date, attendees, agenda items covered
- Focus on: Decisions made, action items (who does what by when), key points raised
- Skip: General discussion, tangents, personal opinions
- Distribute within 24 hours while memory is fresh
Slack and Teams Messages
- Use threads to keep conversations organized
- Be clear about whether something is FYI or requires action
- Use @mentions thoughtfully—only tag people who need to see it
- Save long or complex topics for email or documents
