Meeting Notes

Effective meeting notes capture decisions, action items, and key discussion points—not everything that was said.

  • Record: Date, attendees, agenda items covered

  • Focus on: Decisions made, action items (who does what by when), key points raised

  • Skip: General discussion, tangents, personal opinions

  • Distribute within 24 hours while memory is fresh

Slack and Teams Messages

  • Use threads to keep conversations organized

  • Be clear about whether something is FYI or requires action

  • Use @mentions thoughtfully—only tag people who need to see it

  • Save long or complex topics for email or documents
